When we get older, sometimes we can forget we left our car keys, one word, the name of the movie, or the typical: What came to pick up?
These small memory lapses happen, and they're healthy because there's new information regularly overflowing the brain, retaining everything would be overwhelming. So, your mind makes a decision and discard tons of useless details.
But what is normal, and what could be a symptom of Alzheimer's?
Causes of Memory Loss
But don't worry, just because you lose your keys or forget something doesn't mean you have Alzheimer's. You could have memory loss, or maybe you have any of these conditions:
- Some Medication side effects.
- Alcohol Poisoning.
- Low levels of vitamin B12.

Here's a checklist of typical situations and concern situations.
Normal: You forget an appointment, but remember it later.
Concern: You ask someone for details over and over again and forget the things every time.
Normal: You make a mistake calculating your pay bills.
Concern: You have trouble solving problems that used to be easy.
Normal: You forget what number of days it is, but remember later.
Concern: You find yourself out of home and don't know how you arrived there.
Normal: You have age-related vision changes.
Concern: You have problems with color, perception, or distances.
Normal: You can't find the correct word immediately.
Concern: You call all things by the wrong names.
Normal: You misplace your glasses or your keys from time to time.
Concern: You put things in weird places, like the keys in the microwave.
Normal: You feel tired, sometimes.
Concern: You try to be apart of your family because of the changes you've been through.
Go to your doctor if you feel significant changes in the way that you always do your thing every day. And keep calm, your doctor could help you.
- Read a book.
- Solve Puzzles.
- Sleep well.
- Keep your blood pressure in check.
- Maintain a healthy weight.
- Avoid alcohol and smoking.
- Do exercise regularly.
- Eat healthily and include seeds like: Macadamia, Almond.
- Control your sugar levels.
- Keep your mind busy but careful with the burnout.
- Enjoy your life!
